Getting back to what Jones said, it *IS* possible for a caring owner to lose a cat, but eris is probably right that if they really cared, they would have looked before two days lapsed, *AND* they probably would have put up posters of their own by now, if they really wanted the cat back.
However, it is possible, even for nice caring owners like eris and Goob, so I suggest you immediately buy a cutey little name tag and a really special little collar (with rhinestones in it, if possible) and label your kitty with home phone number, work number or cell phone, just to let anyone know she's owned and loved, if she ever somehow goes accidentally missing from your place. I bought a nice new purple nametag for Jake with a pink collar. (And the hubby says you'd never know he's a *BOY* cat! Hee Hee!)

both of our cats just adopted my friend drew. people are now telling me its a good sign and i should marry the guy, since my cats adore him. and oddly, my cat has been very docile since drew was here. its like my cat was replaced by an alien or something.
